^ Since 4.2020, the current pope Francis has suddenly, without any explanation, declared that he is (only) the bishop of Rome. In 2013, he had become pope. However, the contents of the pope's titles speak louder than the pope's words. At one time it was thus believed, and proclaimed, and affirmed. And the following Roman Catholic source provides a good explanation, link,
"…. All of the other titles “are understood to be tied historically to the title of bishop of Rome because at the moment he is designated by the conclave to guide the church of Rome, the one elected acquires the titles tied to this nomination.” ….”

¤ Basically, each pope has the following list of eight titles.
It is the official list of papal titles in the order they were/are given in the annual 'Annuario Pontificio'. For the titles in question, I have given (biblical) reviews and confirmations.

1. The Bishop of Rome
The Roman Catholic Church claims that the apostle Peter had been the first pope.
<a. However, not a single document from that time has been found that Peter would have visited Rome.
<b. The apostle(s) Paul (and Barnabas) worked among the pagan peoples, but the apostle Peter only among the circumcised (cf. Gal. 2:7-9).
¤ At one time, the empire of Rome turned into a spiritual power (4a§1317, Rev. 13:3a).
>c. The Roman Catholic Church is a prostitute church led by popes which is not faithful to its spouse, Jesus Christ. It can be found in the Bible as a woman/prostitute sitting on the seven hills of the old city of Rome (4a§1317, Rev. 17:(1-)7, 9, 18).

2. Vicar of Jesus Christ / Deputy of Jesus Christ
<a. There is only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1Tim. 2:5).
<b. The pope is not the Holy Representative of God. The Holy Spirit came as the Vicar of the Lord Jesus (John 16:7).
<c. If you want to meet the Pope, you must bend your knee before him and call him Holy Father or Your Holiness. It is unforgivable worshiping (Ex. 20:1-5; Mat. 23:9; Rev. 21:8; 22:15).
¤ The pope would be the VICARIUS FILII DEI / DEPUTY OF THE SON OF GOD. This title was discussed at the former page (4d§1317, Rev. 13:(16-)17-18).
>d. There is only one Son of God, Jesus Christ, of whom every person should be a witness (Luke 24:44-48).
> e. Someone does not get power after becoming pope. But when he/she has received the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8; 2:38).

3. Successor of the Prince of the Apostles
<a. In fact, Paul would be the chief apostle of the apostles of Jesus' time. The Holy Spirit did more work with him than with the other ones (e.g. 1Cor. 15:9-10; 2Pet. 3:15-16).
>b. Another successor of the prince of the apostles could be compared to a false prophet (e.g. Rev. 16:13).
>c. The false prophet will be thrown directly into the fiery lake at the end of the Greater tribulation period (Rev. 19:20; 20:10).
>d. The guideline would not be what the pope or his church says, but what God's Word says (Gal. 1:8; Rev. 22:18-19).
> e. The church is not the Teacher of God's Word, but the Holy Spirit (John 16:13).

4. Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church
<a. Christ is the Head of everything, and likewise the Head of the Church and every believer (Col. 1:13-19).
>b. The Roman Catholic Church claims that its own name is identical with the original universal [=Catholic] Church from which all other denominations descended. With this claim and definition God is fully of the same opinion. The universal church would be Babylon the Great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth (4bc§1317, Rev. 17:5).
